Other Details to Note

You can save this listing to your wishlist by clicking the heart in the top right corner. ***You must be 25 or older to book the farmhouse. This is a working farm with wildlife and animals, and the owners ask that you (for your own safety and that of the animals) enjoy the animals from a distance. Please do not approach, feed, or touch the animals or wildlife. All fencing on the farm is wired, and if touched, will result in electric shock. While you will find the farmhouse to be incredibly clean and we aim to provide quality service, we are not a luxury hotel. Our co-hosts are available through messaging should a need arise, but there's not a "front desk" at our remote location. Think of this experience more like an authentic, quiet, old-school Airbnb farmhouse stay. CAUTION: the driveway entrance to the farm begins with a steep hill. We advise our guests to take it slowly and have had no troubles on it, but it is probably not suitable for oversized vehicles with large trailers or RV's, etc.

Nicole’s house was beautiful and cozy. We felt right at home! The backyard/patio space was wonderful for relaxing in the evenings after spending the day exploring. We enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed. The beds and living room were very comfortable. The farm was so peaceful. My kids loved seeing the deer roaming the fields and the chickens in the coop and even the occasional sighting of the cows in the pasture. Nicole was also very quick to respond to my questions before and during our stay. Would definitely stay again!

Our Farm Stay in Thaxton was amazing. The house is absolutely beautiful, exactly as described/pictured in the listing. The back patio was so peaceful that the pictures could not do it justice. Nicole was a wonderful host; always promptly answering questions before we arrived, making recommendations for places to eat and sending texts to be sure check-in went well. A basket of fresh eggs were waiting on the counter when we arrived which was such a thoughtful touch. The location of the house is quiet and calming. We sat outside every night we were there enjoying the small pond and the deer that would graze in the fields surrounding the house. We were close enough to enjoy Smith Mountain Lake as well as have a lovely dinner in Lynchburg. I would highly recommend the Farm Stay in Thaxton.

We had a wonderful stay! It was a trip to drop off our son at Liberty for his 1st year. It was a blessing that all the hotels close to University were fully booked because I love Nicholes place! The drive wasn't that far to the Univ and airport. It was just so peaceful and quiet when you get back after all the hustle and bustle around the Univ area or the airport area. This house is in between those areas so it's perfect. Everything was clean and the house was big enough for our family. Walmart and Food Lion is not far if you love cooking your own food. I love cooking our breakfast and I enjoyed cooking in their kitchen! I love the surroundings! The deers are always in the backyard, so fun to watch them. The chicken coop is a short walk and the white and black cows are always grazing not far away. Thank you for letting us stay in your home and for the welcome fresh eggs! We actually ate it all in two days😁 We love your place!
